I use virtualdub to convert a dvd to an avi file. When I add my resize filter, it has a provision for cropping. Some movies have a small amount of black area to either side of the screen. If I crop that out, when I play back the movie, it works fine and I have no black areas, except that the movie changes proportions, i.e., faces might be longer (narrower). I guess you could call it the aspect ratio changes. How do you crop those areas out and keep the original aspect ratio? I'd appreciate any input on this matter. Thank you.[/b]
