Hi popsuresh,
It may be that the audio is in a format that TMPGEnc DVD Author doesn't support in terms of playing back during authoring, but will allow it to "pass through" so that, when played on a stand-alone DVD player or PC, then it'll be OK.
Until the very latest version of TDA, AC3 audio (common on commercial DVD's) was not supported.
I'd suggest burning the VOBs to a re-writeable DVD disk and seeing if they're OK on your stand-alone.

Tmpgenc dvd author has always supported ac3 audio, the new version can just encode ac3 with the plugin.
try this

it usually helps if you don't get any audio when you add the vobs. -
Hi popsuresh & Baldrick,

Apologies if it (my response) was incorrect or misleading.
@Baldrick - Can you explain the difference to what I understood (in my response to popsuresh) and what is said in the link to the other post? Just so I can get my facts straight.
Thanks. There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

I don't talk about ac3 playback. I assume that popsuresh didn't get any audio when added the vob, that tmpgenc dvd author can't find the audio in the vob.

I see - TDA supports AC3 in terms of recognising it and treating it as an acceptable audio format for muxing with video, it just didn't use to play it back.
