Changing the resolution from lower to higher is generally not recommended. You cannot create resolution when it has been lost and the results aren't very good.

I don't know what type of file you have so I can't make a suggestion.

Use VirtualDub and the Resize filter. Depending on what format you then want it in, either frameserve to mpeg encoder or encode to some AVI format in VirtualDub. But as stated earlier, the quality will onle get worse.

  6. Here's how I did it:

1st I created a VCD using the 320x240 video. Then I captured the vcd back into the computer using my capture card and selected the proper dimensions in my capture card. You just need to make sure your capture card supports the resolution you're wanting to acheive.

BTW this is the ONLY method I personally have discovered to upsize the dimension of a video without loosing quality. Good luck!

  7. Hey, Greenbutt: You said that you have an AVI File that you want to make the screensize Larger. What are you trying to make a DVD, SVCD, VCD, AVI, Mpeg-1, or Mpeg-2 movie? I make DVD'S myself. If you are making DVD compliant files, you can use Honestech Mpeg encoder. It will make any file larger in size, and compliant toDVD,SVCD,VCD,AVI or whatever. For example say you have got an avi file thats 700mb and the screensize is 320/240 you want to make a DVD. So load the file and select DVD also select 4.7GB. After the encoding WALLA!!! You have a Larger size file ready to Burn. And no loss of quality!!!! EVER!!!!! The max screensize is 720/480. Hope this helps you.
