Does anyone know if it is possible to rip a VCD, and is so how?
I have a few original PAL VCD's which will of course play on my NTSC DVD player but the picture is squashed (I have a multi-standard TV)! I want to convert them to NTSC.
Any help would be appreciated.

To rip a VCD just pull the .dat file out and rename it to .mpg. It should be as simple as that.

Renaming the file does not yield a compliant MPEG. You should always run the MPEG file through VCDGEAR.

If he used Nero, he also wouldn't have had to rename it to .mpg either...
