If I spend $$$$ on a DVD recorder it needs to replace my existing DVD player and VCR and be able to record shows that I can play on my upstairs DVD player. I often Dump shows from my TIVO to a tape and watch it upstairs, this Recorder must replace that VCR functionality so I can dump shows to a DVD.
Besides all the standard hoops required for a decent DVD recorder, it must also have good MP3 support.
I have checked out several DVD Recorders (Phillips, Pioneer, Sansui and Panasonic) that all claim to have MP3 support, however none of them seem to have Random Play for MP3's. My MP3 CD's have 150+ titles. Using my existing DVD player I can place a MP3 disk in and select random play. I don't want to hear all my A songs followed by all my B songs etc.....
Requirments
DVD RW (to make transportable DVDs)
Hard Drive for Editing
MP3 Long Filenames (not the crappy 8 letter file support)
MP3 Random Play
Any ideas?
