    Hi I have an NEC 1100A, bought as Pacific Digital. I use CopyToDVD and it always says write speed 2.0X. I've used all sorts of 4x media and it never writes that speed. My firmware is 1.A0.

    I also have NEC 1100A i tried some RITEK 4xspeed Discs and my NEC drive ' ignores' them telling me the media is not present . I have had no problems with Packard bell 2.4x speed dvd+r . my firmware is 1.9.

    Make sure ‘Ultra DMA Mode’ enabled otherwise you’ll never see 4x speed.
