Use the reauthor mode, change the start and end to a short clip. Make a backup. Try then import the backup in tmpgenc dvdauthor(add dvd video). Do you get any audio?

If I demultiplex the ac3 from the vob(using tmpgenc, vobedit, dvd-lab) I can't import it with sonic soft encode. It says Failed to verify Frame 1.

Media player with the ac3 filter can play the ac3 file but it crashes when I close it. It also works to import the vob with dvd-lab...maybe doesn't dvd-lab check the ac3 as the others.

Yes, no sound when shrink clip used with TMPGEnc DVD Author.

In Windows Media Player with the Ligos codec, the DVD Shrink clip had no sound but with the Main Concepts codec it had sound. In WinDVD it had sound in file mode and DVD mode.

The only way I found to make the shrink VOB normal is to use ReJig. Using the DVD Backup mode, it will make a normal VOB which TMPGEnc DVD Author will accept with audio.

    Regards,

    Chas

THanks for the rejig tip. It also works if you demultiplex the ac3 and use ac3fix.

Maybe I should post this in the digital digest dvd shrink forum so dvdshrink can fix it. Adding some kind of ac3fix when you cut.

  4. For me a workaround was not to use the start/end clipping in DVDShrink but to extract the full title then clip it in TDA.
    Hope it helps

  5. what version is this problem for? I've clipped longer sections with 3beta5 and never had an audio problem in TDA.

I know....but if you want to make short clips from several dvds it takes so loooong time to copy the entire movie every time.

  8. only a couple. I used it to cut the Special End Corner sections out of Real Bout Highschool in Re-author mode. I was setting it up to run 6 episodes on one disc. then authored menus in TDA. not problems at all with final product.

did you only cut the ends? because it works fine then, if I change the start it doesn't work.

  10. yep it was the end sections of both tracks. I'll experiment with it on a few other discs tomorrow if I can get done with my current project (read problem disc) in time.
