I have been extracting audio using VirtualDub and have no problems til recent. I cannot save the wav file from the avi in full processing mode. When I go to save the file I get "no audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format".
The sampling rate 44100Hz and Channels 2(Stereo) look normal but in file information the compression shows "unknown (tag 6771)".

How do I correct the compression?

    Thanks.

DivX audio is usually (in order)

    1) MP3 Do you have an MP3 codec isntalled
    2) AC3 Your error number isn't for AC3 (usually x200), but you can install the AC3 fileter for free.
    3) Ogg Vorbis. Install the Ogg Codec set.

That's about it for audio. Some really old ones have 'divx' audio which is really old M$ codecs.

Use G-spot to determine the type of audio stream your AVI has. That way you know exactly which codec you need.
