  1. i'm trying to backup a dvd, because the original is damaged on the widescreen section of the disc. luckily there is also a fullscreen option too which is all on a completely different vob file (i.e. w/s is VTS_01_1.VOB & VTS_01_2.VOB, f/s is VTS_02_1.VOB & VTS_02_2.VOB). i've tried to disable the faulty file with nero recode, but it still tries to recode it before putting onto dvd.
does anybody out there hae any suggestions for what i need to do? or if not is there a way of repairing the faulty file?

why not try dvdshrink for title set 2 (presuming that is the one for VTS_02). Or check the 2cool guides on the left.

Rip the fullscreen version in ifo mode. DVD2ONE,upto version 1.30 will transcode from ifo.movie mode. You could also use IFOEDIT to create a set of ifo files for the vob's ripped in ifo mode.

  4. thanks for the suggestions guys, but unfortunately none of them worked. is there any software similar to tmpgenc, where i can re-encode the vobs & simply replace the repaired files in place of the originals & keep the original menus?
