  1. Hi all,

Sorry, probably been asked before but I couldn't find it doing a search..

What PCI capturing card (hardware capture) would you recommend that would have a TV Out (Composite or S-video, doesn't matter).
It's tough finding a good one, i've had to dig alot, as most people have an out on their standard agp card, so a good majority of pci's are input only.. In my case, I don't have an out on my old agp.
Looking for a good combo hardware capture + if possible tv tuner AND a tv or s-video out.
Btw, not interested in any ATI products.

As for research, i'm leaning right now towards the Hauppauge PVR-350 or the AverMedia DVD EZ Maker PCI, not the same price range, i know, but both good cards apparently.

Also if you have any feedback on the Hauppauge Win-TV-D Digital Tuner Card or the Personal Cinema FX5200 series (AGP) please let me know.

    Thanks for any help

I use the ADS usb InstantDvd-2 which has function to loopback through the unit-decode to analog and output to?.

It does NOT have tv-turner or pvr ability as yet. There are some that have specs that indicate this ability but I have not been able to verify that they cap audio & vid together in a "locked" manner.

IMHO any device that caps audio through soundcard will be prone to sync problems.

Extremely happy with quality of my device, just looking for pvr ability also

  3. yes, thanks for the heads up on the soundcard issue. Didn't think of that.
I hear ADS makes good devices although I'm not a big fan of usb capture.

I think the hauppauge pvr models are my best bet at this point.

& thanks for your input, cheers.

Older Asus VGA ViVo cards are excellent.
    Matrox also (really expensive).

Why you don't try a search and reading here?: https://www.videohelp.com/capturecards

Hi Sat, yes Asus are good, but i'm looking for a simple pci solution.
As for that board, it doesn't list tv-outs in the options, only analog ins and pci, agp etc... but thx
