I recently bought the Nero MPEG-2/SVCD Encoder plugin to be able to encode Quick Time mov files. (I’m using Nero 5.5.9.13 on Windows 98 SE.)
The plugin DLL files installed properly to the NERO directory, but when I try to compile a (S)VCD, I still get the "Unsupported File Format" message of death.
Nero’s online trouble-shooting guide suggests that maybe a QT CODEC isn't installed on my system. But since I have Quick Time Player 5.0.1 on my system, I figure I must have the CODEC, right?
If there is a required standalone QT CODEC that I need to install, I can't find it on the WEB; and I've spent several hours trying. Is there an independent issue I should know about? Or if it is a codec problem where do I find it?
(I see no standalone CODECs at QUICKTIME.COM --- There're all built in ---not that I know much about codecs!)
I was using a trial version of TMPGEnc to encode my mov files to mpg and it worked fine. However, I decided not to purchase it as I wanted to stick to OEM and decided to try the nero plugin instead. That's when I started having problems.
I'd appreciate any suggestions as I'd really like to stick with the nero plugin since I’ve already plunked done cash, and replies from techsupport@nero.com don't seem to be forthcoming!
Thanks for any comments.
Steve

Nero is not really the encoder of choice around here. Good luck with your question though.
