Thanks for the info! I was almost out of blank media too. That should help tide me over for a bit.

  5. How can you tell from the ad that those are G04 disks? It doesn't say anywhere.

    Thanks!

  6. They also have 100 pack of Arita 4x DVD+R discs for $93 shipped. Great price as these discs are made my Ritek. Discs are coded as Ricohjpnr01 and you can read some reviews of these discs from Newegg at: http://secure.newegg.com/app/CustratingReview.asp?item=17-132-310

  12. i wonder what the price of G4's will go for in 6 months! ... I'm thinking 50 cents per disk. By then 8x dvd's will be down to 1 dollar a disk. I still have 80 dvd's I haven't used so I'll hold off and not load up!

supermediastore.com has the 100-pack for $94. If you use the coupon code "r5off", it goes down to $89. Shipping was about $7.

TRUE, but supermediastore.com sucks far as customer service, my cousein had a bad batch of dvd's-r and emailed them and they just blew him off..rima.com on the other hand kiss my butt and told me to send back the bad 35-37 and replaced it with a new stack of 50. I rather spend the money and go with newegg then get bent over by supermediastore!

  15. I jumped on this yesterday since all I've been using were Sony DVD+RW, which I am not fond of right now.

    Good find!

  18. I dunno what the fuss is about. I have almost no experience in media.

But, the Riteks came today and they are G04.... Nice packing job (not). Never knew they just stack 50 on top of each other and wrap the whole shebang in plastic. Heh

They are RIcoh made just branded by Arita ( a brand name of ritek, likle ridata and ridisc)

and GO4 is the dye formulation used on the discs (its a 4x dye forumaltion)

  20. The Arita discs are capable of 8x burning. I have verified this.

I think GO4 means that they are generation 4, right?

  22. Just got my order today from newegg and they are in fact G04. This is the first media I've purchased that actually burns @ x4 in my Toshiba 112 drive.
    I'm in awe...
