    Hiho,
    i know its possible to create a DVD with AC3 sound out of a Avi w/ AC3.
    Its always a mpeg2 DVD file (*.m2v) and the *.ac3 in TMPGEnc DVD Author to create the DVD.
    BUT, is it possible to use a mpeg1 VCD Movie (*.m1v) and the *.ac3 to create a smaller Movie on the DVD with AC3 sound? Or does it have to be *.m2v file

    As long as the m1v is a legal DVD resolution it should work fine.

    I do that with my vcd`s with no problems,just change the audio to ac3 and import the mv1 and ac3 into tmpgenc dvd author with no complaints and watch on my dvd player.
