  1. I just installed mine yesterday. Everything seemed to be fine. I put the card in and installed the drivers and software as per the instructions. I get good TV and FM reception, and I can record shows, but as soon as I open the folder in which the files are saved, explorer crashes. This happens whether I'm just opening the folder, opening the files through media player, or opening the files through the included software.

I read a couple reviews that alluded to software issues, so I uninstalled the software and downloaded a new version and all new drivers from their website, but I still get the same problem.

I messed around with it all day and I haven't really gotten anywhere. Windows explorer just keeps crashing whenever I try to access them.

I'm running a P4 1.7 Ghz with Windows XP Pro.

Anyone who uses this card have any ideas or tips? Thanks.

Well, to see if its software or drivers, I would install a free capture program such as VirtualDub. See if you can capture with it to your harddrive and open those avi files. Also make sure that if you're running XP Pro that you have your hard disks formatted with NTFS and not FAT32.
BTW, what format was your capture. MPEG/AVI Uncompressed/Compressed, 320x240 or 720X480 Etc.....Trouble could lie within that as well.....

Let me know if this helps...

  3. Both my drives are in NTFS. The capture is in MPEG II format.

Have you tried capturing in another format? Maybe try MPEG1 fullscreen, MPEG2 320x240 and AVI. This will help determine if its software /drivers/etc....

  5. I just did a capture in MPEG I and everything seems to be fine. I think somehow it is a problem with MPEG II.

    Any suggestions?

  6. I also just tried to capture using WinDVR and got the same problem. It looks like the problem occurs everytime I try to access a MPEG II file.

Anyone know how I can solve this?

    Thanks.

  7. Its probably something to do with windows trying to play the file when you click on it (for the little preview that you get at the side) and im guessing it cant find an mpeg2 decoder.

Try launching your dvd player (cyberlink or something) and opening the file direct from there, rather than double clicking in windows.

My guess is that it will play it.
