  1. Can anyone help a newbie with a problem. I have a AVI file on disk that I want to convert to DVD but have found that the AVI file is jerky on playback is there anything I can do to correct this?. The movie is a DIVX and the audio says it is MPEG layer 1. The framerate is 23.976 and I am going to play it on a PAL system. I have this problem on another movie but not as bad, this one is very jerky indeed. Any help please?.

  2. Being quite new to the scene there may be a way to improve things but as a rule of thumb its always better to get the best original files you can to convert as quality is always lost on conversion

Have you tried checking your codecs ....? this may be the cause of the jerky playback before condeming the file
It appears that the CPU was operating so fast that it began to execute instructions before they arrived. This execution of future instructions created a small tear in space-time itself through which part of the cpu passed into a parallel universe

  3. I have tried the codecs like you suggest but without success. Looks like I will have to junk the movie, I guess that's what you get for downloading from the internet. Maybe next time I should use the TARDIS instead. Thanks anyway.
