  1. I have just tried to back up a dvd Robbie williams live at knebworth , using the automatic compression without taking out anything it will not compress enough to fit on a dvd r , will compress to 4627 MB

I then tried dvd shrink 3.0 beta 5 and it works fine in automatic mode

So has anyone an idea as to why the latest shrink will not compress my dvd to the correct size ?

    Thanks

  2. DVDshrink might have a new engine may be VBR and it's not hitting it's target size DVD2ONE had this problem with version DVD2ONE123. This is the only thing I can think off. It might be some thing different.

I just tried using the new version of DVD Shrink 3.1, and it also compresses to roughly the same size you mentioned (4627-ish). I belive that number represents the actual disc usage. On a 4.7GB disc, 4.627 GB will fit if that includes everything that will be on the disc.

I just backed up a movie using DVD Shrink 3.1 and DVD Decrypter (to burn the disc) and it worked fine.

    FWIW,

  5. I think a DVd-R is 4.38 but DVD2ONE and CloneDVD cut it off at 4.36
