I'm trying to capture some old holiday footage from old analogue Cannon UC-X40 camcorder into my HD in order to convert it into DVD.Yesterday I bought connect 3d Radeon 9800 XT 256 MB DDR with S-Video TV out connector.Since my camcorder got also S-Video I thought it should be easy to get WDM drivers and start capturing but no such luck.Since this morning I have downloading and installing various drivers from ATI but result is still the same.Message about video capture device being not detected or not capture drivers.Any ideas how can that be solved ?
I'm on Win XP Home SP1

Thats because the connect 3d Radeon 9800 XT 256 MB DDR is not a capture card. ATI Capture cards will have video inputs. The ati you have only has outputs. Besides, if you are using a camcorder, you can capture through firewire/USB or whatever came with your unit or you can download some freeware such as DVIO or such. But your ATI card cannot capture from external devices since it has no inpuit connectors.
Hope this helps....[/url]MMMMMMMMMMMMM..........sprinkles
