  1. I put a new motherboard on my computer and reformatted the hard drive and reloaded dvd2svcd. Now when I use cinema craft encoder. The program goes thru it's steps until it gets to frameserving. Dvd2svcd stops after it opens the vfapi reader codec. It loads the files up in the vfapi reader, then just sits there. It's not locked up but it definitely looking for something to happen automatically. Does anyone know what the problem is ....

  5. If vfapi reader codec is not supported then why does it come up...now i picked avisynth 2.5 when I installed dvd2svcd. Are you saying that vfapi should not come up but avisynth 2.5 should??

  6. DVD2SVCD 1. 2. 1. Build 3. is the latest tested stable version.
You have not answered my Q. Again why use slow vfapi? How exactly have
you set CCE up? ditto with DVD2SVCD.

If vfapi reader codec is not supported..
That was my information - but why would you want to use such a slow method. I'll check @ doom9 re: vfapi wrap support as I thought it
    was discontinued.

  7. Bottom line, I don't know what the heck I am doing..I assumed that dvd2svcd would setup all my settings like it used to do. You sound like you know what you are talking about...so I do I set up dvd2svcd to use avsyinth with cce. Obviously it is using vfapi and I don't know where to go in dvd2svcd to make the changes...any help would be most appreciated.
I know my way around tmpenc but not CCE but I like cce because of the speed.

  8. Hmmmmm...

    Some general thoughts and observations

    *I' m assuming you meant DVD2SVCD 1.2.1b3 and not 1.12.

*I also assume that you are running VFAPI because you are running in safemode (FRAMESERVING), which is recommended by DVD2SVCD when using 2.6X of CCE.

** DVD2SVCD is automatically configured to use VFAPI when safemode/frameserving is checked and in fact comes packaged with VFAPI.

*I assume that you either own a legitimate version of CCE or are "testing" using the trail version of CCE via the EclCCE.exe untility.

*If you are running AVISynth 2.5X, I would try re-installing DVD2SVCD and select the AVISynth version 2.08. It may be that you are executing a script which is incomptible with 2.5X.

*Way out there, but if it does not work and you think the problem is with VFAPI, try installing the latest VFAPI v1.05 into the VFAPI directory under DVD2SVCD. The version packaged w/ DVD2SVCD was v1.04. Worth a try if all else is exhausted.

*Also -- if you are O/C'ing your new mobo -- run it at default settings for CPU and RAM and try again to see if it makes a difference. Different mobo's have different tolerances and while your processor and RAM may have worked at 1 speed one it may not on the other.

    * You can always "downgrade" to CCE 2,5 and not use SAFEMODE (FRAMESERVING). I have used 2.5 and 2.6X and frankly cannot tell any difference.

BTW -- I run DVD2SVCD 1.2.1B3 with CCE 2.66 and do not need to run in SAFEMODE (FRAMESERVING). I have never had an issue to date. However, it runs fine using SAFEMODE/FRAMESERVING mode and uses VFAPI w/o issues.
