I normally rip my dvds using dvd Shrink and burn using Recordnow. I have an aiwa HT-DV90 and a wharfedale 750s stand alone players both of which never gave me any problems playing my dvds. The media I used was primco or princo (not sure of the spelling) DVD-R disks with a light purple tint on the face of the disk.
My problem is that the last time I bought media I could not get the same disk and so I bought disks which I thought were very similiar but these were ritex (again not sure of the spelling) disk not primco (princo).
After I burn my dvd with these disks my aiwa player says there is a disk error, my whafedale says its a bad disk and my pc dvd writer (toshiba) says that the disk in the drive is an unsupported format when I try to play it with Power dvd plays it without sound with ATI Player but it play o.k. with vlc.
The fact that all recognise there is a disk indicates to me that the players should play the disk but there is a problem with the burning proccess. Anybody got any ideas or should I just chuck the disks in the bin?
I think I read somewhere that somebody else had a similiar problem but it was solved by burning using a global disk image. Does this sound like a solution to anybody and if so what program could I use and how do I do it if the files are stored on my hard disk drive
