    Hello everyone,

I read and followed the guide here for capturing with my ATI AIW Radeon card. But now I get like 24% frame loss capturing from VHS. Used to be less than 1%...

    My System:
Pentium II 400Mhz (yea time for a upgrade...)
    256megs of PC133 memory
WD 5400RPM 40 gig hard drive.
    Windows ME
and all the software suggested in the guide.

    Any suggestions comments?

Oh and I plan to upgrade to a P4 1.4Mhz (at least)
    cpu soon!

  2. im running 600mhz and not having any drops with me in 352x240ntfc vcd 2.0 compliant i sugest upgrade because most 500mhz's ive used have problems even playing vcd and 200's can barely do any thing other than turn on when u push the power button it must be cpu or you are capturing in to large of a format

  3. I have a p2 400 your pc is to slow to do MPEG 2 but you system is fast to do mpeg 1 VCD. I will tell you the ATI drivers suck. This is how you install the drivers the right way the only way. FOrmat your hard drive restall windows when you have windows up install direct 8.0 rebot install the direct X 8.0 patch for DV unit then install the drivers from the CD then install the driver's from the ATI website for the updates the ALL IN WONDER will run great. one thing do not ever update your sound card driver after this if you want to update the sound card up date it before you install the ALL IN WONDER driver's.

  4. one other thing shut down any program that are running like Im realplayer ICQ shut them down from the task bar. now start up the ALL IN WONDER TV now click the X to shut it down. Now hit control ALT DELETE shut down from the top do not shut down any ATI program running also do not shut down EXplorer or systray start from the top and work your way down the list some program you might have to try 10 times to shut down just do what I say it will work. Then set ALL IN WONDER on Video CD click record it might start dropping frames do not whore about it. wait until it hits 1% stop it or save it if you want the next file to go to a folder you want its go to save the file if your setting a timer. now the ALL IN WONDER will not drop one frame. out of 100 times i might drop 1% frames to tell you the truth you can not tell I just keep on recording

  5. go with more RAM as well...and i would suggest getting a 7200rpm drive dedicated to doing captures/edit/dvd rip/etc. and i'd suggest UltraATA100, DMA enabled, etc...the more b/w the comp has to shovel information to the hard drive, and the faster the spin rate (and hopefully lower latency while writing) the smaller the chance of dropped frames. going with the info i've read at tomshardware.com, i would say go with a seagate hdd
