  2. I believe you can do this as long as you record your DVD-RW in VR mode.

Or if it's in DVD-R mode you have to finalize it first in order to view it on any other dvd player.

I own this camera too, but I do not use my PC for editing, although I would like to learn more on how to do this. I use the panasonic DVD recorder e80h.

Everytime I try to do things on the computer, it takes so long to capture the video and to edit and do other things. Maybe my computer is too slow.

Hi, I have a sony dvd200 camcorder (same as the 300, but smaller LCD), I use to transfer the videos via usb20 and it works pretty fast without any problem. Someone sad it's not the best to work with mpeg2 if you want to make some afterwork. In my opinion it's ok to do it fast and simple archive the videos. That's my goal.

  4. You could import the files if you had Ulead's MediaStudio Pro 7.01.

Ulead MediaStudio Pro 7.01 supports the AC-3 AUDIO format of the Sony model DVD disc camcorders.

Ulead MediaStudio Pro 7.01 also features the DVD-VR CAPTURE PLUG-IN required to copy the video/audio data from the disc recorded in the camcorder to one's hard disk.

  5. I should also mention I have written a step-by-step tutorial about how to capture video from the discs recorded in DVD disc camcorders.

The tutorial begins on the Web page at the following link:

  6. I have some good news for Sony DVD camcorder enthusiasts.

ULEAD has just released two brand new versions (3.0) of DVD MovieFactory.

I just read the full features list on the Web page at the following link:

    http://www.ulead.com/dmf/features.htm

One of the new versions of Ulead DVD MovieFactory supports AC-3 AUDIO.

    Why is this important?

Because the Sony DVD camcorder models utilize AC-3 Audio.

So now Ulead has put AC-3 functionality into a much more affordable software product that will allow users of Sony DVD disc camcorders to CAPTURE/EDIT/BURN their MPEG video.

There are two new versions of Ulead DVD MovieFactory:

    - Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3 Disc Creator

(This is the version with AC-3 Audio Support)

    - Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3 Standard Version

Here's a comparison chart explaining the difference between the two new versions:
