  1. Hello all, sorry if this has been asked before...

Is it possible to strip out unwanted materials, still preserve the menu but just backup and not re-author the files I want to keep? The movie I want to backup will actually fit a DVD5 without compression; and I will still have space left on the disc to keep the menu and chapter selections. So I'd rather not have to re-encode what I need to burn (preserve the original quality), as my current machine is too slow for re-encoding anyway.

(Or will re-authoring without compression still keep the original quality?)

I read through all the guides, and I can't seem to find such set up. The Doom9's new DVD Shrink 3.1 Guide says it's possible to do this using IfoEdit and DVD Shrink together, but it wasn't elaborated further...

Can anyone point me to the right direction in finding instruction on doing this, please? I'd prefer to use the freeware tools if at all possible.

    Thanks in advance...

  2. Go to doom9.net and you'll find some guides on how to strip\replace unwanted stuff with IFOEdit.

    Doom9 > Guides > DVD / miniDVD > DVD Backup Guides.

Scroll all the way down to Stripping unwanted extras and you should be able to see the guides
