    Hi,

How do i convert from SVCD to miniDVD?? How big of a hard drive do i need for that?? I have a 40 gig. I know going from DVD to miniDVD using DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc Plus a 40 gig is not enough because i tried it. Can someone start throwing beginner guides out this way?? So i can learn how to do this. Even if u guys want to u can even give me guides on Divx to miniDVD?? Please reply back. Thanx guys.

  2. 40gb is enough for all conversions.. read the beginner guides
    diff between svcd and minidvd
    svcd 480x576
    minidvd 720x576
cvd 352x576 (probably a better idea)
    10gb is needed for conversion.

Converting SVCD to miniDVD is possible. First problem is an SVCD is 800MB's,but miniDVD is limited to 700MB's because it must be burned in mode 1. You would need to re-encode down to 680MB's. Once you have it to 680MB's demux it into m2v and mp2 streams. Re-name the mp2 to mpa.
Use IFOEDIT's DVD author mode. It makes no DVD compliance checks so it will convert the 480x480 to 720x480 in the ifo file and it will author the mpa stream even tho it's sampled at 44100. Test in your DVD player to be sure it can handle the 44100 audio. If it can't handle the 44100 you need to re-sample it to 48000 before authoring in IFOEDIT.
You would need to re-encode a DIVX to mpg2 then the same procedure.
    TMPEG for encodeing,demuxing,and audio conversion.
Nero 6 has a miniDVD template to simplify burning.
An alternate method would be to demux and author the 800MB SVCD and then compress it to 700MB's with DVD Shrink.
