I downloaded this file it was actually a wrestling video and it was encoded in MPEG form and I checked it out and it was perfectly made for VCD's it ran at 29.97 I think FPS so I went and burned it in nero and went to watch it and it like freezes...its about a hour hour and 20 min's long is there any reason why it would do this?

Four main possibilities:
1) It's got a bitrate higher than normal, which your DVD player can't handle.
2) You burnt it on cheapo media your DVD player doesn't handle well.
3) You burnt it at a high speed (When it comes to VCDs, the lower the better).
4) Your DVD player simply doesn't handle VCD's very well. -
Well is there anyway I can just download a converter that will take my video and make it into like a vcd 2.0 compaitable with a lower bitrate that my dvd player can handle?

If it is not VCD 2.0 compliant, Nero should RE-ENCODE it automatically. Make sure you are using the Nero wizard -- select "Video CD" and make sure that "Create Standard Compliant CD" is checked. Then go about the normal process. If it asks you to re-encode, select YES.
*** The above applies to the standard Nero GUI -- not Nero Express. Using the Nero Express front-end, you cannot switch off "Create Standard Compliant CD". It is always on and you should be prompted if the file is non-compliant.
Also -- make sure the MPEG file has no errors by using VCD Gear to check for errors and correct if any are found, prior to authoring or burning. ( VCDGEAR/MPEG -> MPEG/FIX ERRORS )
BTW -- If it is a "standard" VCD -- it is a fixed bitrate (CBR) of 1150kbps. Therefore if the player plays any part of the file, it is not a non-standard bitrate or bitrate exceeded problem. However, if it is VBR file or CBR file at other than 1150kbps, it is not a standard compliant VCD (most likely an XVCD/KVCD, etc). If it is a CBR rate not supported by your player, it would not play at all. If it is a VBR file, it is possible that the bitrate could be spiking at a certain point in the file to one that cannot be handled by your player.
Even after all of the above -- I would guess that the file is probably VCD compliant (given the length of 80 minutes can be accomodated with a fixed CBR of 1150 on 700MB media). I would take a look at 1) file errors, 2) burn speed, 3) media. -
Yup, first thing to do is check for errors in virtualdub or VCDGEAR.
Have you tried to play the VCD on another DVD player? -
well my Sony S360 plays VCD's only on CDRW and I dont even know if my GoVIdeo dvd player can play VCD"s

The go video player I have is the HT2015
and how do I check for error's with those programs I have both but how do I check for errors? (I wish there was a prog where all ya do is pick ur video and pick what ya wanted and bam made it perfect lol) -
In virtualdub;
File > Open video file
Video > Scan video stream for errors
Wait for the result -
Virtualdub refuses to open up the file I"m not sure if it has to do with the file name or something the filename is WWF.Survivor.Series1.mpg i'm not sure why it wont open any one have any ideas?
