I own a TV wonder pro. In the past I was able to capture just fine at higher resolutions.. the card is suppose to support up to 720 x 480 MPEG-2 quality. I cant seem to record anything above the *x 240 mark. Like it will let me record at 720x240 but if i try to change 240 to anything higher it just says un supported in some programs or i get errors in other programs. What gives? I have all the lattest drives and it says my capture device is working properly. Any ideas on what im doing wrong?

I tried looking up the specs at the ATi site but they don't offer much.

Hard to say because 240 is not part of the standard VCD, SVCD or DVD resolutions. Maybe someone who owns one will reply.

well you can deffenityl go much higher.. as i used to in the past and specs from other sites say so. I dont know what wrong tho? I uninstalled EVERY possible ATI capture driver just now and I tried installing the driver that came with my card on the install disk. It does not seem to work tho. when it goes to install it has a refernce memoery error read? and when I install the lattest driver from the website I cant seem to get a resolution past x240 vertically. Man i hate ATI so much... Ever since I bought this card I have had nothing but trouble.

just because you are having problems, doesn't mean ati sux. I have an radeon 7000 in my other computer, and it works great.

  5. (Thinking...)

My brain keeps telling me these cards use the BT8x8 chipset, which requires updated drivers to unlock the x480 resolution, which SatStorm has made mention to previously?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is a driver issue. Let me see if I can find the thread in question and I'll link it...

thanks for the help. Im assuming its a driver issue too but I cant seem to install the old driver that came with my cd? so if any1 has a link to an older /mod version of atis capture drivers that could help.

  7. I have a card that uses the BT8x8 chipset (Win-tv Go) and have had problems with resolutions before. Give iuvcr a try and see what happens.
