I am having a lot of problems getting my final output to DVD to look good. It looks like I am losing multiple resolutions . I am bringing in both photos and video from a Hi8 source. I use the AIW 8500 Radeon card and use the Ulead Video Studio6. The edits look great and the high res render on my computer looks good but the burned DVD terrible and not compatible with some DVD players. I have a Pioneer A05 DVD burner. I am downloading the file as a MPEG2. I guess I am using the Ulead software to make my DVD.

Does the Pioneer A05 have a program that is better?
Should I buy Pinnacle 8 to edit and burn DVD?
    Nero?
    TMPGEnc?

I have the Cendyne DVR105 DVD drive (generic? of the Pioneer A105 drive) and never did like the quality that any Ulead product gave me. (first venture was with Ulead DVD MovieFactory...can't remember which version...) bit I do remember that I didn't like the final output. I also have an ATI AIW (albeit a VERY much older version) 128...finally discovered DVDLab. I personally do not do any Hi8 captures, but I do capture directly to MPEG-2 using Lordsmurf's (no affiliation ) guide, and use still pics to make a "slideshow" along with my movie. Then, use NERO to burn...

    To me, excellent quality!!
