I noticed that at the final chapter of the movie there seems to be a tracking problem, and the player reverts back to chapter one. Anyone have any ideas as to why a couple of my back-up dvds have these problems on the final chapter?

sorry...
I have never experienced what you are saying.
could there be
lint
dust
fingerprints
scratch
on the disk causing it to do this?! -
I have thought about that, and checked the disks. They are clean. Hey, wait, are we talking about the source dvd disc?

I've encountered this before and it had to do with the quality of the DVD-R media, and of course the player it was playing in.
On my Panasonic Q I had that exact same problem with Princo brand discs, however, out of sheer frustration, i burned a copy on a premium Apple disc, and it worked perfectly. Try using a different brand disc OR try the disc that is giving you problems on someone else's player.
Hope this helps.
