Ok, here's my deal. I'm going to add my own subtitles to a poorly translated HK DVD and I need to rip the video and original japanese audio. I was messing around with DVDx and while easy to use, the picture quality doesn't come out as good as I thought it would. Could someone recommend a good ripping utility that can produce the same picture quality as the DVD(if it exists)? I wasn't sure if it had to be an MPEG or not so I just put it on the title because I figured it's going to have to be an MPG2 file. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Tmpgenc DVD Author. Use the "add DVD video" button that is right under the "Add Video" button. Check "copy video files to computer" on the next window and it will create an mpg in you My Documents/Tmpgenc folder. No loss in quality. If the DVD is encrypted you will have to rip it first. I use DVD shrink.
