I used DVD shrink to back up my first movie and it worked great. Now I am trying my second one but it will only let me compress to 99%. The final file obviously is still way too big. What could be the cause of this? I put it on ratio and slide the slider all the way to the left and that is only 99%. Thanks!

I tried another dvd and it seemed to work fine until I did the deep analysis now the lowest compression I can pick is 74% which makes the movie just slightly too big. Am I missing something?

Are you trying to backup the whole DVD? Some DVDs are simply too large. Try just the movie with a single audio and one Sub Title. I;ve never run across a DVD I couldn't backup with Shrink. Knock on wood!!! I did have one that ended up larger than the target file ( 4.38Gig ) so I loaded the Ripped Movie back through Shrink in FILE mode and just reduced a wee bit more and that worked perfectly well.

I had a movie that I backed up using DVD Shrink a while back on which I had to make one copy with 6-channel Dolby Digital Sound (AC-3) and one copy with 6-channel DTS sound. I could not fit both sound tracks and the movie onto a single disk.

Last week I did a rip and DVDShrink ... wouldn't shrink it enuff
So ... I ripped the DVD to my harddrive and tried Nero Recode 2 ...
... no problems ... successfully worked. -
Guess what? Recode is Shrink re-dressed. It's been speculated that the author of DVD Shrink collaborated with NERO and wrote Recode 2. The diference is that you need Any DVD to be able to Copy a protected DVD.

Why is it that after deep analysis I can not go lower in compression than 75%? I could before deep analysis. I did copy the movie by making the menus pictures.

think it is disgraceful....now we will forever be associating a GREAT product like DVDShrink to crap like Nero.....makes me SICK.
I guess I must be lucky. I don't doubt some people's machines are obviously having some sort of conflict with Nero. One thing I've noticed is that it doesn't like to live along side Roxio Products. No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD! -
I have had the same problem so what I did was backup to the lowest it can and then refeed it and you can go even lower, this has work like charm for me several times, I hope it works for you!!!!
