  1. I have NERO 5 installed. I don't see any program to add chapters to a DVD, so I'm assuming that you need a different program to add chapters. What program should I use and how do you do it? What other information do you need to know?

  2. Take a look to the left under Author. Basically Nero sucks at authoring DVDs (it can sort of do it). You can use it to burn you DVD projects (thou some would recommend other programs ).

Basically what you need to do is author the DVD. This is the process of taking all your elementary streams: video, audio, subtitles, menus, etc. and converting them into a series of VOB and IFO files.

The authoring program will create two folders: VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS (must be all caps). You can then burn those folders to a blank DVDR.

It's in the authoring program that you setup the menus, which buttons do what and the chapter points. Freeware wise you can make a simple DVD with no menu and chapter points using IFOEdit.

After that people like DVD Lab and TMPG DVD Author (both free for 30days then $80 to buy). After that authoring programs get pretty pricey.
