    I have one DVD disk from Europe wich read OK on Region Locked 1
    DVD player in computer and does not read in standalone Sony DVD.
    Message on TV screen says can't read zone protection.
    No matter what I do it does not solve the problem.
    Also how can I see region number of the DVD disk movie.

    Most disks from Europe will be encoded as region 2. So unless you have a region free player you cannot play it on your standalone. Check the DVD players list to see if your player can be made region free.

    If you have a DVD burner, rip the disk and make it region free. Burn to a DVDr and it should play OK.
