CloneDVD and selecting Chapters

Greetings,

I'm trying to test my new DVD Burner by making a backup of one of my DVD Christmas presents, and am using CloneDVD 1.3.11.2.

After I choose CloneDVD I am presented with a screen that shows all the chapters that make up the DVD. There is always Chapter 01 which has a length of the entire movie and is huge. Then there are also the individual chapters starting with 02 and going up to whatever the last one is.

My question is, if Chapter 01 is really the whole movie, then what are all the other ones also listed for?

The screen has a slider bar showing how good/bad the video quality will be due to compression and it's usually pretty bad. So, if I only select Chapter 01 and unselect all the rest up through the end of the movie, will the DVD still work? THat would make the quality much better but I don't know if the DVD would be playable.

Anyone have experience with this?

The disc will play fine. Then menus buttons associated with items you un-select will not play when you "press" those menu buttons.
I have used CLONEDVD many times works great!!
