  1. Hi,

A month ago I bought I bought a PHILIPS DVDRW416 writer to create my own DVD's. But till now without any luck. I can create DVD but they won't playback on my PHILIP DVD763SA. I used DVDXCOPY and CLONEDVD after ripping a dvd with Smartripper. The discs I used are of the brand PHILIPS. According to the specifications of PHILIPS the 763SA must be compatible with +R/+RW standard. That's why I bought their writer. Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or what program, settings etc. I must use to ensure compatibility?

It does play -r/-rw discs. This is also according specs of PHILIPS. So it must be possible to play +r/+rw discs.

  2. I see you got a 4 speed burner did you try burning on 2.4x speed and see if the disc worked? You could also try a +rw to see if it plays that, cause you can only burn that on 2.4x speed. It just might be like old cd players some didn't like high speed burned cds.

  3. The disc I use are 2.4 compliant. So burning speed was 2.4 at most. I also burnt a disc a 1x speed and tried it in my PHILIPS DVD700 player. No succes. I did'nt try it on the 763, because it is in maintenance at PHILIPS (problems with SVCD and +r of course)

What burning software do yoy use, and what settings?

    Regards

  4. Hey,

I got a philips dvdrw228 burner and a philips q50 and a philips LX 7000SA. The philips q50 is the best there is, it plays anything. the philips LX 7000SA is a bit picky it only plays dvd burned with Nero. If i burn with anything else it will not read the disc.

I use the normal dvd-video burn settings of nero 5 or nero 6.
    Greatings,
