  1. okay, this might sound like a stupid question, but when i'm searching for dvd printable covers i sometimes see something about a "custom" cover. what exactly is a custom cover art?

  2. It's a cover that someone has created on their own. This is opposed to someone scanning the original.

  3. There is a great selection of original dvd covers and custom ones here.

    www.dvdcoverart.com

You have to upload to download or just buy like 100 credits for 10 bucks comes out to 10 cents a download. You wont find any better original scans or custom on the net. Its a great site.

They usually have good reasons for rejecting covers either for quality or for the fact that they can't post covers from particular studio. I think Fox has asked them not to post any of theirs. In order to avoid any legal tangles, DVDCoverart.com just complies.

Other than scanning them or going to the trouble of desiging them yourself, where else are you gonna find such a large database of high quality scans and sometimes even better quality alternative DVD covers?

I let a friend borrow my copy of Charade from the Criterion Collection. His new puppy got hold of the DVD case and chewed it up. I went to DVDCoverart.com, requested the title, and in a few weeks "voila!" It was there for me to download.

You can get started for as little as $3.95 for 20 cover downloads. I think this is a very small price to pay for such a large assortment of covers and for the security of being able to replace one that might get damaged or lost.

they rejected my custom covers cuz they said it was stolen from another website, but it wasn't. while i WOULD pay for some covers which i can't find, i don't think they have a right to charge people for covers that's not even thiers and didn't upload and scan themsleves. it's a ripoff. i understand the upload to get credit thing, but dammit don't be so anal about custom covers
