  1. Since a few days ago, all my video files (mpeg2) are playing very jerky and unstable whether I am viewing them on wmp9 or ulead video studio 7.Can anyone there advise me please?Is something wrong with codecs?

  3. I have tried defragging my hard drives but it has not changed anything.Do you think some files are missing or may be corrupted in windows?Or any video codecs damaged?

    You might want to try installing a new mpeg-2 codec, or re-installing whatever DVD player software you use.

    Check your BIOS setting to make sure that your hard drive isn't using PIO for access. I recently added a 2nd hard drive to my PC (without changing the BIOS). Windows XP was able to see and access the drive, but I could not capture video to the drive until I told the BIOS that the drive was there and that it was able to transfer at UDMA rates.

  8. try installing your video driver again if you had it, you might of deleted it if you were cleaning your hard drive again, i did
