When converting DVD to XSVCD with DVD2SVCD, I would like to encode as 704x480 in Anamorphic format (it plays fine on my DVD player, and yes, I realize that some players won't play it correctly but I still want it). While I can encode as 720x480 Anamorphic already, I want to save some bits for higher quality by resizing to 704x480 (valid DVD resolution). However, there's no 704x480 option in pulldown menu. Note, that I will encode over several SVCDs to give the movie enough bitrate.

Please do not misunderstand what I'm asking here. I do NOT want to crop the overscan area in 720x480 and encode only 704x480 (such as what AutoFitCD does), while keeping the movie size at 720x480. I only want to resize to 704x480 (keeping the overscan areas) and encode as anamorphic. Since Anamorphic isn't a problem (it's an option in menu), the only question is how to resize to 704x480.

I have made an extensive search on forums here and Doom9.org but have only found that one has to check "Edit as part of video encoding" option in Framserver tab of DVD2SVCD to get a custom resolution...

Ok, so once I choose it... What do I input "as part of video encoding" to resize to 704x480? I do not want to lose anything else that DVD2SVCD automates when resizing. So, would I have to type out the whole script from scratch or would addding the resizing option only do the trick?

Also, is it possible to simply click on "..." button by "BicubicResize" option in DVD2SVCD and change TargetWidth "Auto" and TargetHeight "Auto" to "704" and "480" or will it be overwritten by whatever resolution is chosen in the pulldown menu? I'm trying to find an uncomplicated way here... Are there any plug-ins for DVD2SVCD, which add 704x480 resize WITHOUT cropping the overscan area?

I'm just starting at this, and, accoring to Doom9.org, editing the scripts for resizing is an advanced procedure, so I would appreciate a step-by-step guide for resizing to 704x480.

Thanks much in advance!

PS Mods, feel free to move this topic in what you consider to be a more appropriate forum for this, if you feel it's inappropriate here.

EDIT: I might've misunderstood the description of AutoFitCD plug-in that the cropping of overscan area is a must but it looks like it might be optional (isn't it?). So, I will give it a try to see if it can resize to 704x480.
