movie converting problem

Hi, I searched this site and everything, but I don't seem to find a solution, how I can convert my Full framed movie in an Xvid.

I use pinnacle studio 8.6 to edit my movies, and then if I want to compress is I can choose between some codecs, like Divx, Intel codec , and more... but before I formatted my pc, I also could choose Xvid.

I installed the Xvid codec on my pc, I tried different but it wont appear in the list of compress codecs. if somebody got a solution please help me.

another question, what is a good program to add effects, text effects, and effects in the movie? cause I used flash mx to mike intro's, but pinnacle and flash mx dont go together so good. tnx if you can help me out
