How can I take a MPG2 file and make it so it plays in my DVD player that is connected to my tv?

Hi Corry,
Simple enough question, but very difficult to answer.
If the MPEG2 file is compliant, then simply author and burn it onto a disk. If its not compliant, then re-encode it so it is compliant, then do the above.
Is your MPEG file compliant? You can use AVIcodec (a free download) to find out what you have there.
A nice encoding program is TMPGEnc, and good authorizing program is TMPGEnc DVD Author.
We'll need a tad bit more info. ok
