    You need to
    - capture your video : https://www.videohelp.com/capture
    - edit it: https://www.videohelp.com/edit
    - convert it: https://www.videohelp.com/convert
    - author it: https://www.videohelp.com/author

and you're ready to burni it. Easier said than done. The good news it that this site is a gold mine of great info. I suggest you read a lot to learn and eventually ask questions when you are stuck.

    Good reading.

  4. Audio/Video Composite and-or S/Video and I recommend you get some very good ones. Radio Shack has some real nice Gold end - heavy shielded - and filtered cables. Their not cheap, but you're going to need them.

Don't use coax inputs unless you have no other choice. You will loose alot of quality even with high performance coax cables.

Get the best, you won't be sorry.

    Good luck.

    OR....
Go out and buy yourself a cheap DVD Recorder at the after Christmas sales. Doubt you will find a decent(77 or 80) Philips one.... but the "lesser name" ones are sometimes more reliable and a whole lot cheaper.....less headaches too than with capturing....ALOT less.
