  1. I wasn't quite sure where to post this question, so I hope I found the right place.

I am trying to make a DVD with MP3's that is playable in a home or auto DVD player. I have used Nero 6.0 and Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD, both which have the option of making a Mp3 disc on either a CD or DVD.

The CD's with Mp3's will play in all of my DVD players, yet the DVD's with mp3's on them will not. Does anyone have any idea of what I may be doing wrong? Though the DVD's will not play the MP3's in players around the house and in my car, it will play them on the computer.

    I am using TDK DVD-R discs, on a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-106D burner.

Any suggestions/tips would be greatly appreciated...

  3. Thanks for the quick reply, I actually searched that before asking and used Mp3s playback as an option... didn't notice the DVD-Mp3 choice.

Is DVD-MP3 play back something just recently coming out on DVD players? The primary reason I purchased a DVD burner was to allow playback of thousands of songs in my car without having to change CD's. I know that all of my DVD players are about 2 years old, an none are on the list of players on the site. Any suggestions on a good DVD player for a vehichle that has DVD-MP3 support?

    Thanks again!

I have a home DVD player (Norcent DP300) that plays MP3s burned on DVD. As for the DVD format, there is none specific for MP3 on DVD, just burn the files as data and the player (if compatible) will just recognize them and start playing or show a menu. As mentioned before, you'll have to try yourself to find one.

Most DVD players firmwares are designed to go to video mode when they recognize that a DVD was loaded. When this happens, the player will not be able to read MP3s on DVD and will report a "bad media" error.

  6. Target carry a Koss brand dvd player (it's a small portable one) that is capable of playing mp3 players. They only carry it their "greatland" stores, which is their huge stores where they also sell groceries. Check out nerd-out.com for more info; there's a lot of threads on this over there. Good luck (most dvd players are unable to play dvd mp3s)
