Alright, I recently burned a few DVDs of family function, when attempting to watch them my elder DVD player(recieved for christmas in the past year) more or less skipped through the five minutes that I did watch.

Yet a newer DVD/VCR player plays the DVDs fine (for the most part). The elder DVD player will play regular DVDs fine, and VCDs fine, but it doesn't play burned DVDs without skipping every 31 seconds.

It's a Coby DVD player, couldn't tell you the model no. but it has MP3 playing capabilities, plays VCDs, and it even has a karaoke feature. It was fairly expensive when I bought it and it hasn't gone throughany problems before this which is why it's perplexing that it won't play burned DVDs.

Can anyone enlighten me as to how to fix this problem?

  2. yeh,get a new cheap dvd player, buy better media(doubtful),buy different media.:i.e:+instead of -,or vice versa.
thats pretty much it,it may just not like dvd-r,or+r,so the different type might do it.
its not too hard to figure out..just some trial and error on your part.
