    Burn it as non-complient.

Is it really VCD and not SVCD?

I'd predict that you might have used the wrong template in TMGEnc. Nero will convert for you, just load the AVI straight into the VideCD template and it will do the rest.
    If in doubt, Google it.

No! Don't do it! Don't let Nero re-encode your file.

@highlander- Since you had to use the unlock template it seems that you made a file that is not 100% VCD compliant. If you use one of the regular VCD templates without unlocking then you will normally create a compliant file. Burn it as non-compliant like Gazorgan said, if nero won't do that then VCDEasy will.

Personal experience...no problems whatsoever using Nero to re-encode AVIs, WMVs anything...

I guess different strokes for different folks.....

Obviously you don't rate it Zippy ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

No, it's doesn't compare, quality wise, to TMPGEnc, CCE or Mainconcept which are the widest used encoders around these parts. To each his own though.

  9. Try using TMPGEnc's templates to make a compliant file in the first place.

If you unlock the template and fiddle with the settings, you're making an XVCD (i.e. a non-compliant file/disc).

If you do this, you shouldn't be surpised when Nero says the file is non-compliant, and you encounter problems playing the disc on your standalone.
