I'm looking to edit some home movies and maybe fade from one scene to next. anybody any suggestions? preferably one which uses MPG2 format for opening and saves.

I did not know Virtual Dub can fade from one scene to the next. I think it can with a little help from AviSynth, though.

(Donald Graft's logo-filter which can fade in or out a bmp-file. If you use a black bmp with the same size as the video you can make the fade in/out effect.)
Never tried it, but found it with google. -
I think he means scene that cross fade one into the other.
