  1. I am currently attempting to convert a PAL DVD to an NTSC DVD. I followed the standards guide that's floating around this site and I can get to the step where I need to encode it in TMPGE. I get this error when I try to start the encoding: "To playback MPEG-2 file, DVD player software needs to be installed on your system. MPEG-2 files can not be played without such playback software."

Do I just need to download an MPEG-2 player or a plug-in for TMPGE for this to work? Any suggestions as to an MPEG-2 player I could try?

    Thanks,
    Joe

Installing a DVD player will install an mpeg2 codec at the same time, which is what you need. Even a demo version will do, if the demo runs out the codec remains. Try PowerDVD or WinDVD.
