Anyone here know where I could fine a s-video splitter to split the output from a satellite receiver to two outputs (to TV and DVD recorder). I found one online that was amplified however the price was over $200.

althought i'm not sure about the degridation of video quality when you used a non-amplified splitter.
maybe you should just use rca inputs in to the tv & s-video to the dvd player? -

I've seen better picture quality using a S-Video cable versus an rca jack on my home TV, but it was a very, very small difference.

[Sorry if this posts twice. It seemed to fail the first time.]
$45 at Radio Shack - a 4 way audio/video distribution "amplifier". You can do S-video in and composite out if you need to.
