Video cutter/splitter

I tried couple of video cutters/splitters but I have no image of the video when I want to cut. Can somebody help me?

i've tried with movies, with music videos...still no luck...

Movies? What container/extension like avi,mpg, mp4,mkv, dvd,vob, etc?
What cutters have you tried?

I would use:
For avi movies use Virtualdub or avidemux.
For mpg/dvd/vob use VideoRedo or mpg2cut2.
For wmv/asf use asfbin or windows movie maker.
For mp4,mkv use avidemux.

AVI files, mostly

I usually use easy video splitter, and it works almost all the time, but sometimes doesn't want to cut some movies.
