  1. Alright I have done this many of times but as of lately
for some reason I can not get it to work right
    must be old age
I just did a dvd rip on a movie
    it worked fine
I am at the part where I use tmpge to cut it in half
I go to mpeg tools and then cut and merge
at the very top I choose for TYPE: MPEG 1 video CD
I then go to the next section and add the full movie, which adds fine. I give it an output name and then I click on run and it goes. Everytime it comes out it is not coming out as an mpeg, it is just a FILE, i got to click on it and it says open with what.

    ANY SUGGESTIONS, please help
i have done this in the past and it has worked fine
like i said everything goes smooth but the end product when I cut it in half it is being put as a file but I have choosen type as mpeg 1 video cd

  2. make sure that the output file has the extention on it, such as mpeg.. i havn't tried it without an extention so i'm not positive thats what it is.....

  3. Yep, it is probably just as simple as an extension problem. Just make sure you name the file video.mpg rather than "video". If you've already create the file, you can simply rename it and put on the extension.

    Yep

Its that simple... just did it tonight. I cut an MPEG2 and when I went to burn the file that I cut it was a generic file? Simply renamed it with an mpeg extension and I was away!
