  1. Dear Friends,

The firmware update process (ver. 2.30rev) could not be completed in my machine and now i'm not capable to use this drive. Neither the BIOS can detect this drive... Is it dead or there's something else to do?

Any help will be much apreciated...

  2. 1.Unplug IDE cable to Optorite then bootup and shutdown, connect drive and bootup.
2.Reinstall firmware,if you use Windows installer disable DMA or use PIO mode!
3.The drive has a one year warranty so contact who you bought it from or Optorite support: www.optorite.com/support.htm

  3. I have been done this. But the drive is not booting yet.
It's not reconized by BIOS. Any other drive connect in same IDE Channel does not boot too.

There's another thing i could try?

Try following the instructions outlined in the first post from the following link:

If this still doesn't work, then sending it back for warranty repair is your only choice. Good luck.

  6. If you've connected other drives to that channel and NONE of them work, then the problem is not the Optorite. Could be a dead channel (unlikely), could be a bad cable, could be a BIOS setting. Find out how to access your BIOS setup and check to make sure that the IDE channel in question is enabled. Make sure none of the pins in the connector on the board are broken or smooshed.

    Best of Luck,
