    Just curious.

I've got two 7200 cards (known as the ATI AIW 32MB DDR at the time).

If I've forgotten one, let me know

  2. before I got my standalone recorder (panny E30), I used the ati tv wonder pci card (not the ve). It did a good job. Since getting the dvd recorder, however, it is gathering dust in my pc.

I still am using the original AIW 32 mb card and love it. One day I'll buy a newer card.

I use the 128 pro and have no problems. Just took awhile to find the right driver\mmc comination to get it to work right.

  5. I have an AIW 7500, before that I used an AIW Pro 4MB card (remember those?). This was before the Theatre chip, I think it had a Brooktree chip.

I know for sure All-in-Wonder (not Pro) had 4MB? I may be wrong, coz something rings a bell about memory upgrade chips, perhaps there was some line of PCI version AIW Pro with just 4MB? Im rather sure AGP versions of AIW Pro had 8MB, I had AIW Pro (PCI) with 8MB as well.
    Who cares anyway

  8. I had the PCI version. It had 4MB built-in and a connector for a whopping 4MB more!

  10. Mee-sa have two 9000 Pros. You-sa did not include 9000 Pro in your poll. You-sa only include puny 9000.

Mee-sa feelings hurt. Mee-sa gonna go take anger out on newbie posters in HDD thread now.

  11. I dont' believe there is a difference in the capturing between the 9000 and the 9000 Pro, only the graphics chip is different.

The 64mb DDR VIVO card was one of the best things i could have bought. Check the capture cards on the left hand side, and I'll be darned if you'll find a hard complaint.
I don't understand how such a cheaply priced, and high performing card didn't get more popular than it did?? That being said, how is it that the latest ATI cards come with such a huge price jump compared to this little wonder??

  16. 128, 128 pro, and 7500. You left out my first one, the 3d expression plus PC2TV card.

I just did it on the "128PRO" card ... it all depends on whether your capture chip is the "RAGE THEATRE" chip, as MMC 8.x will fail if not detected.

It requires hacking, and I'll have guides on that at my site later this month. It was a little 13-hour experiment of mine .. though I think I only spend 9 hours actually tinkering with it.

Alright, add the last option for older relics. However, we reserve the right to make fun of those using cards that have outlasted computers, houses, wives, cars, whatever. :P

  23. I have an ATI AIW 128 Pro, and the pictures are pretty crap. It won't display proper PAL images but some bastardised NTSC soft focus, dodgy colour, low resolution thing! You think its oK until you see a real PAL image displayed. Even passthough TV signals from a DV cam via firewire would blow it out of the water. And the TV out doesn't fill the screen either! Other than that, it's a wonderful item! I also have a Matrox Millennium card and it is so much better for TV out - absolutely no comparison. I wouldn't recommend ATI to anyone in PAL land.
