Just read the DVD Shrink article on splitting DVD-9 to two DVD-5's without compression. I've done this before, but the only fall back of it is you can't include the Extra Features of the DVD - it is the main movie only!
Article is here:

So - question: How can we do a third process and place the extras on both DVDs in a similar fashion as DVD-X-Copy? (which does so automatically usually).

You can include the extras using DVD shrink, you just drag and drop the extras. The same way you do the movie, in ReAuthor mode. They will play after the movie, no menus. you have to run the entire DVD thru DVD Shrink.

Actually, you don't re-Author.
You do 1 backup with menu/extra's as stills. You do a second backup with the movie as stills. Now you have full menu's on both disks. 1 disk has extras and the otehr is mostly the Main Movie (minus the 100 MB for the stills). don't forget the extra Audio/Subs if your hurting for space. To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan -
